Foodies to kick off summer with NAIT’s culinary and pastry boot camps

NAIT is the place to be this July for local foodies

The polytechnic’s kitchens will be buzzing with activity as the popular culinary and pastry boot camps kick off for another summer.

As always, campers of all skill levels – from novices to experienced chefs – will be decked out in culinary uniforms, including camouflage scarves, aprons and chefs’ hats. They will work with NAIT instructors learning professional tips and techniques in these intensive, fun-filled camps.

  • Pastry Boot Camp runs July 4-7. This is an intensive, five-day, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. experience that captures the fundamental techniques of all things pastry.
  • Culinary Boot Camp runs July 5-8 and July 12-15. Campers learn to prepare vegetables, starches, meats, fish and poultry, and receive professional tips on poaching, braising, roasting and grilling.

NAIT Continuing Education offers more than 50 non-credit culinary courses every year, including Cupcake Making Fundamentals, Artisan Bread Making and Holiday Entertaining. These courses attract a wide range of participants, ranging from home cooks to professional chefs.
