Lost and Found
NAIT Protective Services accepts lost and found articles within the Institute. We maintain a comprehensive record and repository of personal items turned in on campus.
If you have found property and wish to turn it in, please visit us in our office located at D104. If you are from Patricia or Souch campus, there are peace officers located on site during regular operating hours. The item(s) will then be returned to the Control Centre to be recorded, tagged and placed in secure storage.
Items received into Lost and Found will be retained for 30 days. Identifiable Institutional property will be returned to the appropriate department as soon as possible. Found property may be returned only when the claimant has identified themselves and the article to the satisfaction of the Protective Services office staff. If the rightful owner is not located within the 30-day retention period, the unclaimed property shall be disposed of.
Due to sanitary reasons and cross contaminations (e.g., infectious bodily fluids, influenza, lice, bedbugs, etc.), clothing items are kept until the end of the work day and then discarded. Protective Services does not accept food, food containers, water bottles or cups etc.
Other lost and found locations
Not all items are turned into Protective Services. Some departments and areas of the institute operate their own lost and found. Check with Protective Services if you have lost an item. We can assist you further by providing other locations where a lost and found would be if we do not have your item.
If you have lost or found an item or have any questions, please visit us on Main Campus (D104) or phone 780.471.7477.
