SURV545 - Remote Sensing and Photogrammetry
Additional subjects to be covered include: principles of remote sensing using acquisition systems using optical, infrared and microwave systems; characteristics of sensor systems (active and passive) and their measurements with spectral, resolution and spatial responses; digital image processing, calibration, noise reduction, radiometric and geometric correction; and satellite imagery, spatial transform and convolution. The course material is designed to follow the Canadian Board of Examiners for Professional Surveyors CBEPS examination syllabus for C7 - Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.
Pre-requisites: Graduate of a Geomatics or Surveying Engineering Technology program or a Bachelor’s degree. Field experience and/or the use of imagery could be an asset.
