HOSM2800 - Catering and Convention Management
The course highlights the impact of conventions on the local economy, the structure of catering departments and the main consumers of catering and convention services. The course follows the selling and negotiation process and illustrates third party services that are provided for meetings. Students will follow the steps involved in providing the required services for a group. Through field trips and guest speakers, students will gain insight into the work that catering managers do.
Prerequisites: TOUR2100, HOSM2300, ECON1860, HOST2240. This course is available to Open Studies students.
