Overview

Marketplace globalization has placed excessive competitive pressures on Canadian communities and organizations to develop exceptionally good leaders who are able to motivate staff and others to be best-in-class.

While organizations are investing heavily in staff development and succession planning, it is essential that communities focus on youth leadership development, so that we may identify and develop tomorrow’s leaders at an early age and assist them in realizing their full potential.

This is especially true for the First Nations communities, as they continue to represent a large, untapped segment of Canadian society.

In order to assist communities in addressing these needs, NAIT, in collaboration with its industrial partners, has developed an aboriginal youth leadership program that will assist First Nations communities on various levels, leading to benefits such as personal development, student success, and employment and community development.
