Emergency Management
The Emergency Management (EMGT) Program is a comprehensive, distance delivered program that will provide students with a fundamental understanding of the opportunities and challenges in this dynamic, rapidly growing field. Practitioners in this area need to have both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in order to effectively mitigate against the risk of harm or loss for industry, public sector, community, individuals and government.
NAIT currently offers a diploma program designed to meet the needs of students new to the field of study as well as mature students with significant experience in one of the many arms of Emergency Management. The diploma includes learning specific to each of the 4 pillars in Emergency Management: prevention/mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery, with a particular focus on risk management and resiliency building at the individual, community and sector level. NAIT has created a flexible learning pathway with some of the EMGT courses being available as open study courses, year round offerings of select courses and delivery of the program in an accessible online format.
