For many students, the end of the year is a stressful time. Cupboards are getting bare, and funds are running low. Students, some with dependents, are faced with making difficult choices on whether to pay bills or put food on their tables.

The need for emergency food hampers is on the rise − and we need your help.

Help us stock the shelves

Donations will be matched thanks to the Walker Wood Foundation! Make your gift online before 11:59 p.m. on January 31 to qualify for the match.

The number of emergency food hampers disbursed has quadrupled in the past year alone. With a gift to the NAIT Students’ Association Emergency Food Centre Fund, you can help us stock the shelves to meet increased demand when students need it the most.

Each emergency food hamper aims to provide 6 days' worth of non-perishable food:

  • $35 supports 1 hamper for a single student
  • $75 supports 1 hamper for a family of 3

Hampers include non-perishable products such as peanut butter, canned goods (soups, vegetables, proteins and fruits), dry pasta, rice and granola bars, as well as hygiene items based on availability, such as deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, and razors.

77 donors raised $7,963 to support this project.
