To fully understand the networks in use in today’s business world, it is critical to understand the traffic these networks carry. This course will introduce the students to the TCP/IP protocol suite, including protocols and protocol families such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, and SNMP. Through real-world examples, interactive examples, and many hands-on assignments, students will gain an in-depth knowledge of the protocols, services, and standards than govern TCP/IP and its behavior in modern networks. Students will use several network utilities, including Wireshark to view and analyze traffic on a functioning network.
