This introductory course provides an understanding of the different aspects found in the hydrocarbon based energy industry from the source to end-products. Topics include natural gas processing, conventional oil refining and upgrading, heavy oil technologies, oil sands extraction and bitumen/heavy oil upgrading. Students will learn to interpret piping and instrumentation drawings (P&ID) and process flow diagrams.
