The course covers various topics related to the safe and efficient operation of pipeline systems in the industry, including the energy sector. The course builds on material from the fluid mechanics course to allow the students to perform more detailed calculations of liquid, gas, and two-phase flow. Then, the course examines major piping system components and pipeline equipment such as pumps, compressors, and control valves. Ultimately, the course examines pipeline maintenance, pipeline integrity programs and applicable codes and standards.
