This course covers measurement of soil properties and in situ soil monitoring. Students will conduct consolidation, direct shear, triaxial, permeability and erodibility tests. Topics include total and effective stress, application of geosynthetics, in situ test methods, and instrumentation for monitoring of groundwater pressure and ground movements.
