This course will provide the student with an understanding of how computer-based information systems and emerging technologies are used by management and accountants in today’s business environment. On completion of this course students will be able to make decisions to successfully adopt, control, and use information systems and emerging technologies to achieve business objectives. Topics may include business process automation and streamlining, business and technology risks, accounting internal controls and systems controls, systems development life-cycle, cloud computing, big data, machine learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and cryptocurrency.
