Biomedical technologists are required to test, repair, and evaluate complex electro-mechanical systems. Circuit Applications is a combined theory and project course which focuses on circuit applications and systems used for medical devices. Topics include power supply systems, batteries, battery monitoring and recharge circuits, electro-mechanical transducer drive circuits, signal conditioning, motor control and graphical user interface (GUI) for device control and feedback. Students work in groups to complete assigned projects.
