This course focuses on plant physiology and the sub-surface components of forest ecosystems. Plant physiology will be examined to determine how different plant species vary in their genetics, site requirements and influence on the forest environment. Students will explore concepts of forest ecology, forest soils and plant physiology while growing seedlings in a greenhouse setting. The potential impacts of forest operations on the forest ecosystem will also be introduced.
