This course focuses on wildlife, insects and diseases with an emphasis on species identification and management. Students will learn how to identify the major forest insects and pathogens affecting Alberta's forests and discuss forest management strategies to mitigate their effects. Students will also learn about the interaction between forest management activities and the habitat requirements of major fish and wildlife species in Alberta with an emphasis on "Species at Risk".
