This course develops the skills required to collect, map and utilize both spatial and attribute data. Students will learn how to use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to manage, analyze and create different data structures and maps. Global Positioning System (GPS) hardware and software will be used to capture spatial and attribute information in the field for integration with existing GIS datasets. Mastering the concept of file management is very important for this course.
