This course will emphasize sustainable, economical and safe forest harvest and mill operations. The student will participate in a harvest operation and gain experience from an industry, contractor and government perspective. Students will also learn to assess log quality, compare various manufacturing facilities, and identify associated commercial products from harvested forest resources. The Alberta Agriculture and Forestry Log Scaling Course will be delivered providing students with the opportunity to obtain their Province of Alberta Scaling Certificate.
