This course introduces the concepts of geology that are important to petroleum exploration and exploitation such as formation of sediments and sedimentary rocks, stratigraphy and structures, oil and gas sources and reservoirs, exploration techniques and well evaluation. The development and formations within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin will be discussed.
