This course introduces students to groundwater flow systems. Topics covered in this course include the categorization of local, intermediate and regional flow systems on the basis of hydrogeologic and chemical properties. Maps and image well theory are utilzed, in conjunction with hydrogeologic and chemical data, to interpret prevailing groundwater conditions and groundwater yields. Formations are also assessed for hydrocarbon potential based upon potentiometric surface data.
