GEOL2440

  • Requisites: This course is available to students in the Geological Technology program. Prerequisites: GEOL2342.
  • Course Equivalencies:
  • Open Studies: Not Available
  • Credits: 3.00

This course elaborates on the theoretical aspects of the seismic, magnetic, and electrical geophysical methods introduced in GEOL 2342. The unit on seismic investigations will focus on the use of micro-seismic data and reflection seismic surveys to determine subsurface features. The concepts of normal moveout, statics, and migration will also be introduced. In addition, units on gravity and radiometric methods will explore the application and interpretation of these data sets, as well as the processing and presentation of that data.
