Interior design technologists require an in-depth understanding of the production and compilation of commercial construction documents using industry standards and software as well as knowledge of how detail drawings are created, customized, and communicated within construction drawing sets. Concentrating on the construction aspects of walls, openings and material transition, students will become familiar with the development of interior design details, material and product specification for construction documents, and adherence to the National Building Code - Alberta Edition as it relates to a commercial construction project.
