In this course, students will be given an overview in the principles of Lean Six Sigma. Topics include: Voice of the Customer, Critical to Quality, defining goals and process variation, SIPOC, confidence intervals and sample sizes, hypothesis testing, Gage R&R, Attribute R&R, linear and logistic regression, ANOVA, Chi-squared analysis, Design of Experiments, statistical process control, control charts, the 8 wastes, and Value Stream Mapping. Learning will be supplemented with many hands-on and group activities and students will be exposed to statistical analysis software such as JMP. This course also covers the basics of data collection, retrieval, and storage using databases.
