This course provides a thorough introduction to the principles and applications of power transmission using pressurized fluid. Topics include fluid power concepts and design calculations, component function and selection, and circuit design and operation. Lecture material will be supplemented with laboratory work on circuit design and component disassembly. The course emphasis will be on hydraulic systems with an introduction to pneumatic systems.
