This course will introduce the student to fundamental principles of engineering graphics for mechanical design. Students will apply engineering graphics principles to interpret and create technical drawings/sketches that accurately describe the shape and size of an object.
Major topics covered in the course will include line techniques, layouts, geometric entities, visualizing solid objects, orthographic and isometric projections, applying scale to a drawing, dimensioning, sectioning, and auxiliary views. These topics will be practiced using a variety of tools, including a CAD software package.
