Medical Laboratory Assistants play a vital role in procuring and preparing clinical specimens as well as interacting with the public and other health care workers. The clinical placement provides an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge and techniques acquired while studying at NAIT. With direct supervision, students will practice in public and/or private healthcare settings in various laboratory departments. Students will gain experience as part of the healthcare team and will interact with patients/or clients and healthcare professionals. Successful completion of clinical placement will enable students to challenge the national CSMLS exam.
