Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologists are responsible for ensuring the safety of all individuals entering the MRI environment due to the serious hazards associated with the strong magnetic fields. Students in this course will discuss the components of MRI systems, safety regulations, biological hazards related to the MRI environment, as well as contrast administration and sedative considerations. Furthermore, students will perform patient safety screening, investigate implanted devices and implement techniques to assist patients in completing MRI exams.
