This course provides a clinical orientation to the profession of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). Students have an opportunity to apply concepts in MRI procedures, patient care, and instrumentation, while under the supervision of a registered technologist. In addition, students acquire experience in professional behavior and critical thinking skills. Emphasis is placed on performing MRI screening, patient positioning, patient preparation, and the process of MRI scanning. Students participate in this sixteen week clinical experience at a hospital that has been approved by NAIT for training in MRI. It may be necessary to rotate between clinical sites to receive a well-rounded MRI experience.
