Topics include identification and evaluation of factors that cause accidents/incidents, assessment of hazards and the use of appropriate controls and equipment to mitigate the found hazards, and the application of basic safeguarding systems in the workplace. Also the students gain the following industry certifications: Standard First Aid - Level C CPR/AED, H2S Alive, Petroleum Safety Training (PST), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Instruction for H2S Alive and First Aid certificates is completed on the weekends. For other certificates, students will be completing them online.
