This course will introduce the petroleum student to natural gas equipment design and operation. Following the flow of gas from the wellhead to the sales gas pipeline, calculations are performed on choke sizing, orifice metering, separators, hydrate suppression, glycol dehydration, compression, sour gas treatment and refrigeration. Skills are applied to the hands-on operation of gas wellsite equipment and gas processing equipment including a small scale distillation plant and amine unit.
