  • Credits: 3.00

This course, intended for Nanosystems Engineering Technology students, will provide the student with a common background in knowing and using physical principles, laws and mathematical relationships relating to units of measurement, scalar and vector quantities, uniform linear acceleration, Coulomb's Law, electric fields, electrical potential energy, force on a charge in a magnetic field, Newton's laws of motion, work, energy and power. The density of materials, basic properties of waves, sound, refraction, diffraction, interference, polarization of light, and color will also be included. The student will learn how to Illustrate and calculate the image created by light incident upon lenses and mirrors lenses and mirrors using ray optics and Gaussian optics, as well as the behavior of laser beams using Gaussian optics.
