Medical Laboratory assistants have the ability to work in a wide variety of areas in the clinical laboratory. This course teaches the foundational concepts that are applied to proper specimen processing to ensure validity of laboratory results. Students will learn about the departments in a clinical laboratory as well as the various types of specimens analyzed within these departments. Emphasis will be placed on the safe performance of basic laboratory procedures as they apply to the pre-examination preparation of samples for various departments.
