This course introduces the student to basic surveying field procedures and equipment related to the measurement of distances, angles, and elevation differences. The focus will be on good field survey procedures, sources of error, and error checks. Field work will be compared to typical industry standards. Particular emphasis will be placed on field note format, field note content, and use of survey equipment. Field procedures will reinforce theoretical concepts presented in SURV1101.
