This course emphasizes the identification, distribution, life histories, and management of Alberta bird species. Use of identification keys, species identification, standard measurement techniques, acoustic detection and song recognition will be practiced in the lab. Major classification groups, species of management concern, avian diseases, and bird capture techniques will be covered in the lecture.
