International and Intercultural Community Centre

NAIT’s International and Intercultural Community Centre (IICC) is open to all students and staff and is the hub for international and intercultural community-building, capacity development, outreach, and connection. The IICC serves as a “home away from home” for international students and a safe space on campus where all students can find community. The Centre hosts events, activities, and programs, including international peer groups and workshops on intercultural competence.

Students can also access the International Academic Advisors through the IICC. These trained immigration professionals (RISIAs and RCICs) support students by answering questions about study permits, working permissions, getting settled in Canada, and bringing family to Canada.

Community-building

The IICC is a safe and welcoming space for all students. We offer programs and activities to foster connection amongst people and create a sense of belonging across diverse groups.

International Peer Mentors

International Peer Mentor Program

Students who are new to studying in Canada can signup as mentees and join the International Peer Groups to meet other peers. The groups are led by International Peer Mentors who are senior students at NAIT. The mentors will share their NAIT and Edmonton experience with mentees and provide support for their cultural transition.
