Pulp and Paper Process Operator Certificate
NAIT is excited to announce the launch of its new certificate for Pulp and Paper Process Operators. The Pulp and Paper Process Operator Certificate is designed for individuals interested in working in the Pulp and Paper Industry.
Courses in the program cover topics in Power Engineering, Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Processes, and Project and Process Management.
To obtain the Pulp and Paper Process Operator Certificate, students must complete:
- all core courses
- two elective courses
Students who complete the certificate are also eligible to apply to the Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) to write the 4th Class Power Engineering Part A and Part B provincial examinations. The 4th Class Power Engineer’s Certificate of Competency through ABSA requires successful completion of the Part A and Part B exams as well as either an approved boiler lab or 6 months of work experience.

Pulp and Paper Process Operators work as plant operators, process technicians, quality control technicians and maintenance operators.
