Checklist: Full-time Day Program Registration (First Year and Continuing)

This content applies to recently admitted and continuing NAIT full-time day program students.

Step Task Deadline

1

First year students: You will receive an acceptance letter from the Registrar’s Office.  Pay the non-refundable $250 tuition deposit to hold your space. The deposit confirms you intend to study at NAIT.

Pay at the Cash Office, or online if you have a student portal account (see step 2)

Due date indicated on your acceptance letter

2

Log onto the student portal – there is lots of important information for new students. If you don’t have a user name and password, you will be able to create one.

3

Review NAIT’s Health and Dental Insurance: The Medical and Dental fees are mandatory unless you have extended coverage through an employer or parent. Alberta Health Care is not sufficient coverage.

Review health benefits

If you are choosing to opt out of the plan you must bring your Health and Dental Waiver form to the Benefit Office (Room E125) by the deadline date.
The deadline is the last Friday in September for fall start students or the last Friday in January for the winter start students

4

Pay tuition fees. You can pay at the Cash Office or through the student portal.

Note: Alberta students who are approved for student loans before the tuition deadline will have their tuition and fees deducted from their loans automatically. There is no need to make a payment as long as the amount of your loan is equal to or greater than your tuition fees. More information about student loans.

• Full-time program orientations. These are very important sessions – information about day-to-day expectations, book lists, and class schedules is shared with new students.
• NAIT orientations to campus and to the whole school. Join the fun and meet new friends, find out about support services and get to know campus.

Program orientation dates
NAIT orientation dates are posted as they are available.

Confirm your classroom location and print your schedule. Log onto to the Student Portal and go to:
