What is provisional admission to the BBA?

Provisional admission to the BBA program means you’re accepted into the program on the condition that you must complete 24 credits with a minimum 2.0 GPA in your first year. Once you meet this requirement, you will receive full admission to the BBA program. Provisional pathway applicants must still meet the minimum entrance requirements of the Business Administration Diploma including:

If I am offered provisional admission to BBA but do not meet the requirement of completing 24 credits with a 2.0 GPA in my first year, what will happen?

Since you won’t have met the BBA program’s full entrance requirements, you will not be able continue in the BBA program. However, NAIT will move you into our Business Administration diploma program, where you can continue your studies.

Upon completion of the diploma program, you could then re-apply to the BBA program to complete your degree.

Do I need to apply separately for the BBA International Opportunity Award?

No, you don’t need to apply separately. Eligible students are automatically considered for the award once they complete the required credits in the BBA program.

Am I eligible for the BBA International Opportunity Award and provisional admission if I am a domestic student?

Domestic students can be considered for provisional admission to the BBA program, however the BBA International Opportunity Award is only available to international students.

Is the BBA International Opportunity Award available to students who enter NAIT’s BBA program with advanced standing?

The award is available to any international student who begins the BBA program in Fall 2025 or later and completes 60 and 90 credits within a specific timeframe. This includes students who started their studies in NAIT’s Business Administration diploma program or who applied to the BBA program with transfer credit or advanced standing based on business coursework taken previously.
