Ernest's Dining Room at NAIT is so much more than a restaurant. It provides real, hands-on restaurant and service experience with  for students in both Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs. When you dine at Ernest's, you are giving our students an invaluable opportunity to practice their skills as they work toward starting their careers in restaurants and hospitality.

Critical acclaim and numerous accolades identify the haute cuisine prepared by second year Culinary Arts diploma students as outstanding. OpenTable diners have awarded Ernest's in 2016, 2017, 2019 & 2023 among the Top 100 restaurants in Canada.

Culinary Arts

Students in NAIT's renowned Culinary Arts program are introduced to the fundamental skills of cooking, including contemporary hot and cold presentation, pastry art and international cuisine

Baking and Pastry Arts

Baking and Pastry Arts diploma program focuses on the art and science of bread, cake and pastry making, including cake design and decorating, confectionary training

Professional Meatcutting and Merchandising

The Meat Cutting and Merchandising is an intensive 15 week program followed by 90 hours of practicum that will give you the skills to prepare and market a wide variety of meat, poultry and fish

Learn how to prepare food for hotels, restaurants and other eating establishments.
