What we do

The Clean Technologies research  team provides scientific expertise in the areas of clean technologies, chemical engineering, environmental science, and industrial microbiology, delivering applied research services to support regional, national and multinational companies that operate in the  resource and energy sectors.

The primary areas of focus of the team includes the development of methods and technologies to characterize and add value to industrial residual materials, wastes, and by-products; scale up and field validation of technologies for the remediation of sites impacted by hydrocarbons and industrial brines; and applications of environmental microbiology. The team is also active in the development of methods for extracting and characterizing microplastics.
