Architectural design competition
Cross-functional student teams, from Architectural Technology, Alternative Energy Technology, Interior Design Technology, Landscape Architectural Technology and information technology programs, collaborate to develop smart building designs, ideas and concepts. Student teams compete for several individual and team awards thanks to the generosity of Cisco Systems Canada. The first place team for overall best design will share their award-winning concept at the MOTIVATE@NAIT – Building Smart for the Future event.

A secure smart home concept incorporating solar PV, environmentally friendly materials and clean design.
Team 2: Much Sauce
A high functioning building envelope that can comfortably suit families of the Blatchford neighbourhood for generations.
Team 3: Team Easy Go 'In
Features a highly efficient thermal envelope, innovative energy systems and intuitive smart features - all controllable from a smartphone.
Team 4: Co Exist
A design incorporating eco-friendly materials and net-zero standards to minimize thermal bridging and save energy required for the building.
Team 5: The 6 Musketeers
A seamless design inside and out that integrates interior design, smart technology and energy generation complete with a green roof top.
