$500,000 donation going toward new Centre for Applied Technology; student study space named in recognition
BMO Financial has committed $500,000 toward the NAIT Centre for Applied Technology (CAT), the largest capital project in the polytechnic’s history.
CAT, which opened in September at Main Campus, is home to the JR Shaw School of Business, the School of Health and Life Sciences and the School of Applied Sciences and Technology. The 51,600-square-metre (555,000-square-foot) building includes some of the most advanced simulation labs in the country.
In recognition of the gift, a second-floor study area in CAT has been named BMO Financial Group Student Lounge.
The BMO Financial donation brings NAIT closer to its goal of raising $100 million by 2018 through Essential: the NAIT Campaign, the largest fundraising initiative in the polytechnic’s history. Launched in 2014, more than $90 million has been raised to date.
