ESL and Academic Upgrading Funding
The Foundational Learning Assistance Program, formerly known as Alberta Works, provides funding for Albertans in designated full-time and part-time programs. Advance Education determines learner eligibility and may include a monthly living allowance depending on full or part-time study status and a financial need assessment.
ESL and Academic Upgrading
Foundational Learning Assistance funding registration has closed for the Fall 2022 term . Funding registration requests for Winter 2023 will open mid-October 2022.
Please note the process to apply for funding has changed. To prepare for these changes all students must apply for a verified Alberta Digital ID. Please note that it may take up to 10 days to receive your verified digital ID.
Continuing Students: you are considered a continuing student if you have previously attended ESL or Academic Upgrading at NAIT and received Alberta Works funding within the previous 2 semesters.
New Students: you are considered a new student if you are new to NAIT, or have attended NAIT but have not received Alberta Works funding within the previous 2 semesters.
