Living in Edmonton
While attending NAIT, you won’t be spending your entire time in the classroom. Fortunately, there is plenty to do and lots to see in Edmonton and beyond the city limits.
With a low cost of living and strong economy, it’s easy to find fun things to do that fit within your budget. Edmonton is known as “Festival City” and it’s rare for a weekend to go by without a fun event to attend. Whether it’s a celebration of multiculturalism with food and performances from cultures around the world at the Edmonton Heritage Festival or simply checking out intricate ice sculptures at Ice on Whyte, you can always find something to do.

Alberta is a large and diverse province with lots to see and do, with a modest population. You can use the weekend to visit the Rocky Mountains in either Jasper or Banff; attend the world-renown Calgary Stampede, go camping in the northern boreal forest or see one of the world’s largest displays of dinosaur fossil at the Royal Tyrell Museum.
