Ordering NAIT Transcripts

Do you need to request a transcript for another Alberta post-secondary?

When you apply to another Alberta post-secondary institution through ApplyAlberta, the new institution will request your official transcripts from NAIT on your behalf, free of charge. Please allow for sufficient time for this process to take place. If you have questions about the status of your transcript delivery, please first contact the new institution to verify they have submitted a request.

Get your official transcripts through MyCreds™

Official transcripts are a complete record of a student’s academic progress, including courses taken, transfer credit awarded, and certifications granted. Official transcripts are directly from the Office of the Registrar.

For most NAIT students, official transcripts are issued and accessed through MyCreds™, a secure digital transcript sharing platform. Not only does MyCreds™ provide you with fast and easy access to your certified and official electronic transcript, but you can also share your transcripts securely with educational institutions, employers, government offices and others.

After requesting your transcript on your MyNAIT portal, your transcript will be uploaded directly to MyCreds™ within 1-2 business days. Through MyCreds™ you will be able to purchase non-refundable share credits ($16 plus tax per share) to share your transcripts with organizations quickly and securely. Please note that in order to initially view your transcript, you will need to have at least one share credit on your account. This credit will stay with your document until you share it.

MyCreds™ FAQ

Are my transcripts secure?

Yes, documents issued through MyCreds™ are authentic, tamper-evident and legally valid. Your official transcript in your MyCreds™ account contains digital signatures that meet the legal requirements for certified digital documents in countries around the world. This information can only be accessed by you, NAIT and whoever you choose to share your documents with.

MyCreds™ is owned by the Association of Registrars of the Universities and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC), and powered by Digitary, an international document issuing organization that stores your documents securely.

What are share credits and how do I purchase them?

To share your transcript with organizations, such as educational institutions or employers, you will need to purchase share credits directly through your MyCreds™ account. You do not pay for the transcript itself, but instead the number of shares that you would like to complete.

For example, if you want to apply to a graduate program at another post-secondary institution and also apply for employment at a company and require transcripts for each application, you will need to purchase two share credits.

After purchasing share credits on your MyCreds™ account, you will be able to view how many share credits you have remaining and how many you have used. You can purchase additional share credits at any time.

I am unable to view my transcript in MyCreds™

After requesting your digital transcript in the MyNAIT portal, you will receive an email confirmation from MyCreds™ to access the document.

You must purchase an initial share credit in order to view your official transcript. This share credit will not be redeemed until you choose to share your transcript. If you have a balance of zero share credits, you will not be able to view your transcript. Any share credits purchased can then be used when sharing your transcript with organizations, such as educational institutions or employers.

Do I have to purchase a share credit every time I want to view my document?

No, you must purchase at least one share credit the very first time you want to view your document, but will not be used until you share it with an organization. You will only need to purchase share credits if the document has been updated and you have no share credits associated with the document (i.e. zero share credit balance).

Please note that opening your document to view it does not use up your share credit.

Can I control who has access to my transcript?

Yes, when you review your transcript, you can select ‘Access control’ where you can see who has access to your document. If you have shared your transcript in error or wish to disable access to a recipient, you can do so within this window by selecting the disable button.

How do I share my transcript?

You must first order your transcript through the MyNAIT portal. Once you receive an email confirmation and log in to your MyCreds™ account, select and open your transcript. You will need to purchase share credits to share your official transcript. Each share credit allows you to share your transcript with one recipient, such as an educational institution.

As shared in the guide below, select Add More to buy share credits ($16 plus tax per share credit) directly through your MyCreds™ account.

After I share my transcript, how do I know my transcript has reached its destination?

When you first share a document, you will receive a notification in the top right-hand corner of your MyCreds™ account to inform you that your share was successful. You can also open your transcript to review your share history.

Can I add an access PIN and expiry date to my transcript?

Yes, when you share your transcript with an organization, you can include an access PIN and/or an expiry date. Please note that an access PIN or expiry date are not mandatory when sharing your transcript.

If you chose to include an access PIN, it is essential that you share this code with the recipient as they will be unable to access the document without it. You can review the access code by selecting the recipient within the ‘Access control’ tab in MyCreds™.

If you chose to set an expiry date, the recipient will be unable to access your transcript once the expiry date arrives.

I deleted my MyCreds™ confirmation email

You can still access your MyCreds™ account by going to the MyCreds login page and create a login using the primary email included on your MyNAIT profile.

If you are unsure of which email you have on your MyNAIT profile, you can review this information on your MyNAIT Portal > Open Self Service > Profile.

Can I get a refund for unused MyCreds™ share credits?

No, MyCreds purchases, including share credits, are final and non-refundable. Your share credit will stay in your account until you decide to share your document by clicking the blue “Share” button.

Processing time

Before ordering a transcript, please review your unofficial transcript in your MyNAIT portal to ensure the transcript information is correct (as this is the same information that will be on your official transcript).

You can order a transcript at any time and select whether you want the transcript immediately, or if you want the transcript to be printed after final grades are posted or credential comments have been added. Transcripts with final marks, before credentials are issued, are typically available within a week following the end of term.

Please note that financial holds must be cleared from your account before the Office of the Registrar will issue an official transcript. Check financial holds on the MyNAIT portal.
