EDMONTON – NAIT’s fourth annual Pride Walk is happening Tuesday at Main Campus, followed by a rally in the Centre for Applied Technology. The rally will feature a panel of NAIT experts talking about LGBTQ2S+ mental health.
Organized by NAIT, the Pride at NAIT student club and the NAIT Student Association, both events are open to students and staff. The walk and rally are part of Pride Week, which celebrates the polytechnic’s diverse student and staff population.
Other Pride Week activities include a session about challenging homophobia and transphobia with NAIT’s Student Resolution Officer, a drag show presented by HOMO-cidal and a safe spin class.
Throughout the week, room 182 in the Centre for Applied Technology will be a dedicated safe space for activities, staffed by volunteers who have taken NAIT’s Safe Spaces training and members of the Pride student club.
