Course Overview

Discover the principles and practices of Metal Inert Gas [MIG] welding through study of the theory of MIG welding and application in a shop environment. Explore welder setup, diagnostics, and common weld problems. Become skilled in MIG welding through practice on a variety of different gauges of sheet metal.

Most of today’s vehicles are manufactured using high strength low alloys, and MIG welding is a key component used to preserve the characteristics of the metals. With the knowledge and skills gained in this course, you will be able to use a MIG welder on your own projects.
