As a security professional one must be able to prevent losses and also make contingency plans for recovering from any losses that may occur. This course deals with crucial aspects of business continuity and disaster recovery from both operational and policy perspectives. Businesses must have plans and policies in place to minimize the impact to system failures, network failures, natural disasters or the failure of any key component needed for business operations.
Organizations must also create and administrate polices to support and enhance security objectives. These policies collectively fall under the elements of security management that should follow best practices and documentation. Students will examine management techniques to create and classify policies, procedures and guidelines to implement an effective security policies.
