Course Overview

Business Impact Analysis (BIA) is a tool used by organizations to identify time-sensitive processes and requirements to make well-timed, relevant decisions that ensure resilience and continuity of operations during and after a disruption. Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to develop a BIA that identifies the critical activities involved in implementing time-sensitive processes and requirements when responding to disruption.

A BIA is one of the most important elements of an effective business continuity program to manage functions during a disruption. A disruption to one function can ultimately affect the health of an organization and cripple its ability to remain viable if not managed effectively. Business functions consist of inter-related tasks and processes all focused on providing services that contribute to the accomplishment of an organization’s goals.

As a graduate of this course you will be able to describe the business process impacts caused by disruptions, collect required information on business processes, and determine process time sensitivities across an organization.
