Course Overview
One of the first steps to improved leadership performance is recognizing areas of strength and identifying areas for improvement. This course will allow you to gain a foundational understanding of leadership style and an opportunity to discover your strengths and areas for further development. The skills you gain in this course will help you create a leadership development plan to support your ongoing growth as a leader.
Leadership fundamentals form an essential foundation for current and potential leaders. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to identify strategies to develop or enhance your leadership capabilities.
You may have preconceived notions about what makes for an effective leader; awareness of key leadership practices is an important first step toward understanding your role as a leader. Participants who successfully complete this course will have a foundation in the practices of leadership by using Kouzes and Posner's Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership (6th ed.). This research-driven framework consists of five key practices: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart.
