Designed for existing certified Heart & Stroke Basic Life Support providers, this recertification course will allow practice in pediatric and adult patient emergencies. Activities in this course will prepare you for future traumas through hands-on scenarios in one-rescuer and multi-rescuer CPR.
Recognize life threatening emergencies and the benefits of early defibrillation and use of an AED. Practice effective chest compressions and ventilations to enhance your reactions in critical situations. Gain confidence in abdominal thrusts to treat foreign-body airway obstructions. Activities are based on the most current guidelines set by the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
Prerequisite: Student must provide a valid Heart & Stroke Foundation Basic Life Support card 3 days prior to the start date of the course to firstname.lastname@example.org.
